WORKSHOPS WITH DRESS FOR DINNER

We recently held a tablescaping workshop at Kinsbrook Vineyard. At the foot of the Southdowns sits this gorgeous haven of vines surrounding a farmshop, café and a their wonderland  feeling event space which is a polytunnel brimming with plants, herbs and greenery. It was the perfect setting to sit with our guests, enjoy a glass of Kin sparkling and learn all about the art of tablescaping.

While we were researching the history of tablescaping, we went way back in the time to the 1500’s where we learnt about Pineapples. Slightly off topic I hear you say, back then and well into the Victorian era, Pineapples were a major status symbol. Only seen amongst Aristocrats, Pineapples would be shipped from the Caribbean and used as a centre piece at the finest events, a huge symbol of wealth!

Our tablescapes have evolved somewhat since then and there was not a pineapple in sight at our workshop.

This was a time for us to reflect on what is important to us when hosting. Laying a beautiful table shows your guests you are delighted to be dining with them and how special they are to you.

Showing budding tablescapers the tricks of the trade was such a pleasure, sharing ideas and everyone getting engrossed with napkin design, arranging a posy of flowers and enjoying delicious canapes courtesy of Kinsbrook made for a very special afternoon.

Laying tables and seeing our visions come to fruition is really exciting but listening to other peoples ideas and helping them bring them to life is why we do what we do.

We are going to be hosting further workshops, in line with our tablescapes, these will follow the seasons. From Summer florals, everyday linens and spectacular Christmas displays, watch this space for details if you would like to join.

We are also looking forward to hosting our first corporate workshop, what a fun way to bring the work team together, around the table enjoying food and drink whilst getting creativity and conversation flowing!
